Barbie Wedding Weekend Re-Cap

This weekend my dear sweet friend got married to the man of her dreams, so I just wanted to share a few pictures with you because I’m so obsessed. Literally.

The wedding was absolutely breathtaking, and Emily, the Barbie bride was stunning–

Now you can understand why I call her a Barbie–150160_2237829501258_490970980_n

Of course, Em couldn’t get married in any other shoes! These describe her perfectly!

I loved them!558946_10100860493087081_538387200_n Beautiful, Beautiful, BEA-ut-IFUL flowers that went along with our grey dresses so nicely!

Once I go through my pictures, I will upload more. I just couldn’t stand not posting some of the ones I had on my phone!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend–

Love @ First Bark…Maybe?

Ok, for those of you that are new….I have a dog, Jenny (Jen’s) and Lauryn Pumpkin has a dog named Brody (Brod’s).

Secretly, well maybe not the secret part…but we are trying to make Jen’s and Brod’s love each other.

Crazy? Yes, we know.

But, we want a dog wedding.

Yep, I said it. Dog wedding.

We have already told people our families and we plan on sending out invitations. Real Ones.

This is no joke.

However, there is ONE huge problem.

Jen’s is scared of Brody. SCARED. SCARED. SCARED.

He barks and growls at her. Maybe that’s his way of showing affection? I’m not sure…But, Jen thinks he needs to find a new way because she is not having it.

So, I’ve decided since warm weather is coming up (HOPEFULLY), we need to start planning this shindig. Which means….Brod’s is going to have to change his ways. Lauryn Pumpkin has been talking to him about his actions. Maybe they will corporate.

First, we sent a picture to hopefully help…and then you will see what we got in return.

Jen’s : Brody, Woof you be mine?   Yes or No

Brod’s : Jen’s, I’m sorry for barking at you. I get nervous around pretty girls. Of course, I’ll be yours.

Maybe the next play-date will be better?

I know we are crazy…But, who doesn’t love their dog? And who doesn’t want a precious dog wedding? Ahhh!

Perfect excuse to enjoy some wine, perhaps! I’d say so myself.

The Bachelor : Finale

Wow…What a season.

I got to look stare at Sean.

Did I say stare?

Whoops. Is that the wine talking?

Wait, not whoops

It’s truthful.

Sean is beautiful. (Yes, Justin, you are MORE Beautiful, but we already know that. Duh.)

But, of course, it didn’t hurt having to watch Sean’s beautiful-self every Monday night with my bifflet.
For those of you who do not watch The Bachelor. Shame on you.
I will let you know that tonight was the finale. Sean had to choose between two great girls.

Lindsay OR Catherine

I have like Lindsay all season, however she hasn’t always been my favorite. Maybe because I fell in love with Sarah? Who knows. But, I did feel a bit of chemistry between Sean and Lindsay. I’m not completely sure if it was partially due to all of the kissing, or perhaps the romantic dates they shared. I just think they both enjoyed each other. Lindsay fell head-over-heels in love with Sean and he didn’t seem to feel differently until the very last date. (I beg to differ, because I think he knew before then, but that is information we will never know.) Lindsay is young and in love. She wanted to find her prince charming and get married. Who doesn’t want to do that, right? I know she must be completely devastated, but I was so proud of her for what she said back to Sean after he told her she wasn’t the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

She was more mature than I have seen her the whole entire season.

Quite a few weeks ago, I told Lauryn Pumpkin that I just knew it would be Catherine. Something about she and Sean was unlike he and any of the other girls. You could tell there was a spark. Maybe something weird between them that we didn’t’ all seem to understand? We will never know. But, I do know that they were giddy. They had fun together and it showed. She fell in love with him and I could see in his eyes that the feeling was mutual.
This absolutely sold the deal.
Catherine is as equally sweet as Sean. This note was the perfect topping to one of the most beautiful proposals.
Personally, I think Catherine and Sean will be a great match. They are in love and it shows in every way possible.
Sean is the sweetest man and it goes to prove that Catherine is a very, very lucky girl. Not many men would tear up on national television while watching his proposal. How sweet.
Now, I’m looking forward to watching the wedding–

{We shall take a little time and re-cap this precious couple}

Just before the BIG moment….Can you even begin to imagine how nervous she was?!
Were you happy with the outcome?
ps…I love Sean’s family. How cute are they? And his dad….What a sweet, sweet, sweet dad!

Manicure Monday : President’s Day Style

This week I decided to go with a silver to celebrate President’s Day!

Also, since I am still in the Valentines spirit, I wanted to keep a bit of sparkle.

I found the perfect color.

Very light silver with a little sparkle.

Polish Used :

O.P.I. : Stars In My Eyes

I love the sheerness of this polish. This polish would also be a pretty wedding choice I think because it has that ‘special sparkle’, but it is not overpowering.

Now, enjoy some wine and enjoy your Manicure Monday evening!

Butt In the Oven

Yep, you read that title right…Butt In the Oven–

No, No…Not the kind that is connected to your body, sills. This is the kind that is connected to a pig. Yikes, I know.

This weekend one of my dear sweet friends from High School had a wedding shower and I was in charge of making the food. Of course, I don’t mind because this is my most favorite part!

I decided to cook a Boston Butt as the main meat because I knew that everyone would enjoy it and it’s quite an easy fix–

Dry Rub
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Paprika (For those of you who like a little spice)
  • 1 tbsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Mix well

Since I had my pork shoulder in the freezer, I got it out 3 days in advance and put it in the fridge. Then I brought it out of the fridge 1 hour before I planned to cook it so that it could reach room temperature.

  1. Set the oven temperature to 225.
  2. Rinse the pork.
  3. Pat dry with paper towels.
  4. Place in a large roasting pan that is at least 3 inches deep with the fat layer facing up. (I used the aluminum throw away pans, so I don’t have to deal with the mess.)
  5. Sprinkle dry rub all over the surface of the pork. (I like to rub the shoulder with Mustard before the dry rub so it sticks better and makes it all yummy and delicious!)
  6. Massage the rub all over the pork, so that it adheres to the surface.
  7. Insert the pork shoulder into the oven for 6-8 hours.
  8. Check the temperature to see when the center of the pork reaches 200 degrees.
  9. When you see it is at 200, turn off the oven and let the shoulder cool for 1-2 hours before removing.
  10. When the temperature reaches 170 remove from the oven.
  11. Put shoulder on a cutting board and cut off the fat layer.
  12. Pull apart the rest of the meat with two forks.
  13. Serve and enjoy!

Oh Boy! Doesn’t that look delicious? I’d say so myself!
