About Mi

This twenty-something-year-old loves to cook, entertain & garden.

What comes to mind when you think of ‘Southern Expressions’? Well, to me when I hear ‘Southern’, I immediately think sweet tea and home cooking. One of the most wonderful advantages of the South. Expressions : The process of making known one’s thoughts or feelings. [via Google Definitions]

So, I decided to put both of these together and ‘express’ my ‘Southern’ thoughts. Smart? Why, how sweet of you to think so! I thought so myself. Through this blog I will not only share my thoughts, but also my most favorite recipes, entertaining tips, and other random things I find on Pinterest and obsess over.

Currently my best friend (whom I will speak about a lot) is a newly wed. Well, of course when you think of newly wed you think of ‘a wonderful housewife’. I must add, Pumpkin Lauryn is a wonderful housewife, but we must just work on the cooking part of the ‘housewife’. She is coming along, however she still must learn a lot.

I love to craft, so I may put a few of my Pinterest obsessions on here. I’m sure none of you will hate that, now will you? (If you don’t know what Pinterest is, bless your soul. How could you possibly live without this site of wonderfulness?)

Please note while reading these post, wine water may have been involved.

Growing up Southern is a privilege, really. It’s more than where you’re born, it’s an idea and state of mind that seems imparted at birth. Its more than loving fried chicken, sweet tea, football, beer, bourbon and country music. It’s being hospitable, devoted to front porches, magnolias, moon pies and coca-cola, and each other. We don’t become Southern, we’re born that way.” -anonymous
